EIA: Environmental Impact Assessments
Evaluate potential environmental effects of projects before implementation, ensuring informed decision-making and mitigation of adverse impacts as per the National Environmental Management Act.

EMPr: Environmental Management Program
Outlines specific measures to minimise environmental harm during project phases, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting sustainable practices.

WULA:Water Use License Application
A regulatory process for obtaining permission to use water resources, involving detailed assessments of water usage and compliance with the National Water Act.

SITE SUITABILITY ASSESSMENTS
1World understands that selecting the perfect site is the first and arguably most critical step in the success of any development. Our team is equipped to support clients in making informed, risk-aware decisions by conducting a robust environmental screening assessment of the site.
1. Desktop Sensitivity Screening:A desktop analysis flags any Critical Biodiversity or Ecological Support Areas, proximity to protected areas, wetlands, rivers, and other sensitive features.
2. Fatal Flaw Identification:We assess whether any features present could represent fatal flaws for development—such as legally protected ecosystems, habitats for endangered species, or statutory buffer zones. If these exist, we flag them early to avoid unnecessary expenditure and risk.
3. Environmental Risk Profiling:We classify the site’s environmental sensitivity (very high, high, medium, or low) and highlight key potential constraints—such as heritage resources, groundwater vulnerability, or steep terrain.
4. Regulatory Review:We cross-reference our findings with relevant legislation, including NEMA and NWA to provide a clear indication of what environmental approvals or permits may be triggered.
5. Site Visit & Verification:We highly recommend conducting a site visit for our environmental specialists to ground-truth the desktop findings, and identify any risks not visible via desktop data, such as ephemeral watercourses or protected species of fauna and flora.
6. Reporting & Recommendations: All findings are compiled into a concise, decision-making report. We include a clear summary of risks, potential showstoppers, environmental process requirements, and recommendations for how to move forward.
